Honorary Doctorates were awarded to Adriena Šimotová and Jan Kaplický at the Prague Crossroads
The significant Czech artist and internationally known architect received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the hands of the Rector of the Industrial University, Dr. Pavel Liška MSc, not on the university’s campus, but in the deconsecrated Church of Saint Anne. Adriena Šimotová, whose painting of an “Ecstatic Figure” is located at the front of the church, and Jan Kaplický received their honorary doctorates and concluded the ceremony with speeches. The ceremony was attended by the rectors and managers of the Prague Universities, but also, for example, by President Václav Havel, the founder of the VIZE 97 Foundation, and by many other cultural personalities. We would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate Mrs Šimotová and Mr Kaplický on the receipt of their awards.
